Hiking

Choose Thankfulness

This morning I woke up at 4:30 a.m. on my own. The last few days I’ve been feeling really well. Super rested, energized – but still have a bum hand. BUT I can hike this trail without the use of my hand AND sunrise was 6:09 a.m. Wouldn’t that be awesome to see the sunrise?

I got up at about 5:20 a.m. and left the house by 5:30 a.m. It was plenty light out. I realized right away I had forgotten my headphone. Oh well. I wasn’t going back. (I ended up listening to my Bible app straight from my phone – I just paused it as I passed others.) This worked great.

When I hike this trail, I can be quickly reminded of how much “slower” I am than other hikers, but I have decided just to remain thankful that I CAN hike. I used to think all the negatives and I have worked diligently on talking about what I can do and not what I cannot do. You should try it. Next time you are being hard on yourself about what you cannot do, flip the script and name three things you can do.

NEW: I now have a TEXTING number. Text me at (970) 446-5729 and join the Reclaiming My Life Community. I guarantee you that you will reach me and not some assistant. I don’t have an assistant. I’m doing this so we can stay connected.

I need a place to put these photos from this morning to remember all things work together for good!
