We woke to the sound of pouring rain in Pizzo this morning. I rushed out to the rooftop terrace to watch it come down. I love rain. Breakfast was set up in the Hotel lobby because of the rain. Today we are leaving Pizzo. I love Pizzo. I had many memories with my sister Laura and now with my family. My soul is full – but my body is tired.
We said goodbye to our friends at the Picollo and headed to our next location. Along the way we stopped at a jewelry store. Some of us went in there and some went to the coffee shop.

From here we headed along the Tyrrhenian coast to a shop known for figs. We were unable to see the fig production as the figs are in growing season right now. But the shop was quite eclectic and we learned more about the fig native to Calabria.

From here we headed to a restaurant for lunch which was down some alleyways. Although it had poured rain a few hours ago, it was now beautiful out and we sat outside. Again eating was an “experience.” We were probably here at least 3 hours.

We then “walked” just a short bit to check out an old castle. I would write more but this is difficult to write from my phone. But here are some photos.

From here we had about an hour and a half drive inland to Morano Calabro. I could not tell you if it was a pretty drive or not as I slept the entire way.
We are now checked into our hotel and will be here two nights before we head to Rome for two nights. I hope you have enjoyed my pictorial blog tonight. 🙂

Thanks so much Patty for letting us enjoy your travels.
