Humira – 2nd shot

I’m asking myself why I didn’t agree to this change in medicine sooner. I took my second dose of Humira (2 weeks after the first) this past Tuesday. Here’s my observations so far.

I felt better on the 2nd day of the 1st dose of Humira. All the visible inflammation on my right hand (that I had been dealing with since at least 2019) was gone. GONE! What the heck. My elbows that hurt almost every day (the joints) did not ache at all. My hip bursitis stopped hurting – ????? Is that inflammation too? I could walk up the stairs in my house normally, one foot on one step, the next step was taken with the next foot. I used to have to go right foot on step, left foot on step; move to next step, right foot on step, left foot on step. I gained that much mobility in my right hip.

When it got to about 4 days before the second shot, I could feel slight achiness in my hip and in my elbows. BUT as soon as I took the next shot, that pain was gone again. I only see my Rheumatologist every 3 months, so I don’t know the plan for getting off of Methotrexate yet, but I’m liking this feeling better thing.

Both times, I was a little more sleepy on day one of the shot, but other than that I don’t have any side effects. I’m looking forward to getting back to hiking (once it warms up- it snowed today.) Do you have questions for me? Ask them in the comments or email me at pattydeters@gmail.com. I think I totally missed a question from someone. I remember it popping up and I know I didn’t answer it, so if that was you, please contact me again. That’s it for now!
